Facilities
Students at Warrandyte High School are fortunate to have many excellent facilities
Theatre
The 250 seat theatre is used for theatrical productions, musical performances, rehearsals and formal assemblies. A commercial size screen and data projector are used for multimedia presentations. There are opportunities for students to learn how to operate the sound and lighting systems as well as experience a professional theatre environment as a cast member.
Library
The library was upgraded in 2005 and now provides a bright, welcoming learning environment. As well as an extensive fiction, non-fiction, magazine and audio-visual collection, there are 33computers available for student use.
Sports facilities and Sporting fields
Currently $224,000 is being spent on the oval to ensure that our students have first class sporting fields. The school used $150,000 from a Federal program, Investing in Schools, as well as $84,000 of locally raised funds, to complete drainage works, sow turf and build a rabbit proof fence. A new cricket pitch, AFL goal posts and soccer goals will also be installed. A program to install water tanks and use recycled water is being completed to provide sustainability. It is expected that the oval will be fully operational by October 2008.
Gymnasium
Warrandyte High School has an indoor gymnasium and full size basketball court.
Tennis Courts
Students at Warrandyte High School have access to 5 synthetic turf tennis courts.
Weights Room
As part of their Physical Education classes, students can use the Weights Training Room. Additional opportunities exist to use this facility after school.
Canteen
Warrandyte High School operates a canteen at recess and lunchtime, in line with its Healthy Eating policy.
Specialist Areas
There are a number of specialist classrooms within Warrandyte High School such as the four well equipped Science areas, two kitchens and dining room, design and technology areas for wood, textiles and jewellery. Within the Art wing, there is a dark room for photography and a ceramics kiln. We have a purpose-built music classroom and specialist instrumental practice rooms.
Airconditioned classrooms
All classrooms are airconditioned and heated.
