Warrandyte High School

Student Programs

Student Achievement

Students are encouraged to achieve excellence at Warrandyte High School.

VCE Results

We are justifiably proud of our VCE results. Not only has the median score and the percentage of students scoring 40 or more, improved, but there has been a marked improvement of ENTER scores of students across the board. These results compare very favourably with neighbouring schools.

National Writing Prize

Congratulations to the VCE students who won the Fellowship of Australian Writers’ award for a group anthology of student writing. They received The Mavis Thorpe Clark Award for their anthology entitled Silence of the Heart. This is the second consecutive year that Warrandyte High School has won this national award.

Pierre de Coubertin Sporting Award

This award acknowledges a young person who epitomises the ideals and spirit of the Olympic movement

Student Leadership

The school community is proud of our School Captain who was recently named Manningham Young Citizen of the Year for her volunteer work.

Sculpture Design for Warrandyte Police Station

A team of students from Years 8-12 collaborated with a professional artist and designed the sculpture for the Warrandyte Police Station. The design represents how the police are integrated into the community of Warrandyte.

Rotary Club of Warrandyte Young Artist of the Year

Fourteen students were selected to exhibit their art work in the Rotary Club of Warrandyte’s Annual Art Show. Congratulations to Jordyn for winning first prize. All Year 11 students who created work for selection exhibited their work at school at a special morning tea with staff.

Cyber Safety Film

Four students were chosen as part of an Eastern Metropolitan Region’s CyberSafety project to create an educational film about this important issue. They did an outstanding job which was enjoyed by their target audience of fellow students.

In recognition of the importance of high quality teachers for the attainment of student excellence, we acknowledge recent awards that our teachers have received:

  • Mary Cannon – Elizabeth Grey Award for Educational Leadership 2007
  • Greg Stewart – Eastern Metropolitan Region Teacher of the Year 2007
  • Kate Neilson - Eastern Metropolitan Region Graduate Teacher of the Year 2006
  • Claire Bloom – Leader Press Education Award 2006
