Support for International Students

At Warrandyte High School, we understand that moving to a new country to study is a big step — full of excitement, but also new challenges. That’s why we’ve created a caring and supportive environment to help every international student feel safe, welcomed, and ready to thrive.

Our International Student Program is led by school leadership team and works closely with international student coordinator, careers counsellor, student wellbeing officer, school nurse, and a personal student mentor for each international student. This team is here to guide, support, and celebrate each student’s journey.

Staying Connected with Families

We believe strong communication is key. We stay in regular contact with Homestay families and parents, not only through official reports but also with friendly updates via email and phone calls, so families can feel connected to their child’s experience.

A Warm Welcome Before Arrival

Before students even arrive in Australia, they receive a pre-arrival orientation pack filled with helpful information, including:

• Details about the school program and extracurricular opportunities
• Insights into the local community and transport options
• Available support services
• An introduction to Australian culture
• Key school policies related to enrolment

Ongoing Personal Support

Once students begin their English Language Program, our school staff visit regularly to help them settle in. This personal care continues when they start at Warrandyte High School, with regular one-on-one meetings with our wellbeing team to ensure they feel supported both academically and emotionally.
