VET and VCE VM(Vocational Major)

Warrandyte High School currently offers VET Multimedia and VET Sport and Recreation in-house. Students completing a VET subject gain both VCE Units and a nationally recognised TAFE Certificate. Students can also select from a wide range of VET subjects across a cluster of local providers. In this way, our students can do highly specialised subjects such as Equine Studies, Music Industry and Building and Construction whilst maintaining their enrolment within the school.

Warrandyte High School also offers the full VCE Vocational Major (VM) program. This includes 4 specialised subjects at Year 11 and 12: Literacy;  Numeracy; Work Related Skills; Personal Development Skills. This program incorpoates VET, has students onsite at school 3 days a week and is an alternative to the tradtional VCE pathway. Ideal for students not seeking a university pathway/ not requiring an ATAR.

VET Sport and Recreation

An exciting feature of the VET Sport and Recreation course is the practical outdoor activities. Students completing Units 1&2 undertake a wide range of recreational activities including: a surf camp, rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing and complete a certified First Aid course. Students doing Units 3&4 are required to demonstrate skills and competencies in a variety of outdoor pursuits such as sailing and bushwalking.

VET Interactive Digital Media

Students undertaking VET Interactive Digital Media use a variety of industry standard programs to create digital images, animations, web pages, podcasts, movies and interactive programs. Warrandyte High School has a long standing tradition of excellence in this field and is represented in the VCE Season of Excellence in Top Designs on an annual basis.
